Mr. Gong Guoping, Deputy Director General of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology led a delegation comprising representatives from Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Commission, visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 27 April 2012.
Apart from meeting with Prof. Henry N.S. Wong, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, the delegation were arranged to tour the MOE Key Laboratories for Regenerative Medicine (CUHK- Jinan University) and the School of Biomedical Sciences at the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building as well as the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science. During their visit, Prof. Chan Wai-Yee, Director of the School, together with Professor Kenneth K.H. Lee, Associate Director of the MOE Key Laboratories, Professors Kingston K.L. Mak, Feng Bo, Wan Chao, Xia Yin and Zhao Hui met with the delegates and guided them to visit the MOE Key Laboratories and other core laboratories available in our School. Through this brief visit, the delegates received more information on the latest research advancements in regenerative medicine made by the MOE Key Laboratories and our School.
The visit not only enhanced the mutual understanding between the parties but also facilitated our School in establishing stronger research collaborative networks with the universities and research institutes in Guangdong Province, particularly in the field of regenerative medicine.
