A 12-member delegation, led by Prof. Ruan Shuangshen, Vice President of Shenzhen University (SZU), visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 16 January 2012 and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on collaboration between Faculty of Medicine, CUHK, and School of Medicine, SZU.

Before the MOU signing ceremony, the delegation was guided to visit the different state-of-the-art facilities available in the Faculty of Medicine at the Prince of Wales Hospital, followed with a meeting with CUHK and Faculty representatives including our School members Prof. Chan Wai-Yee and Prof. Huang Yu. During the ceremony, Prof. Chan and Prof. Huang, together with other three professors from the Faculty of Medicine [including Prof. Fok Tai-Fai, Dean of Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Ng Ho-Keung, Associate Dean (Education), and Prof. Anthony T.C. Chan, Associate Dean (External Affairs)], received Appointment of Certificates as Adjunct Professor at SZU from Prof. Jiang Wenqi, Director of School of Medicine, SZU.

The visit and the signing of MOU not only bolstered mutual understanding but also laid down strong foundation for exploring academic and research collaborations between the two parties. Indeed, earlier in June 2011, our School already initiated academic collaboration with the School of Medicine, SZU by co-hosting a conference on "Stem Cell, Regenerative Medicine and Cancer". It is believed that following the conclusion of this new agreement between our Faculty and SZU, our School will continue to play a significant role in developing closer collaborative relationships with ZJU.
