A seminar hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ) – CUHK Joint Laboratory of Bio-resources and Molecular Research of Common Diseases was held online on 26 November 2021. Two speakers from CUHK, Prof. Vincent C.K. Cheung and Prof. Tao Qian, and three speakers from KIZ including Prof. Zhou Jumin, Prof. Chen Zeshi, and Prof. Jiao Baowei, presented their latest research projects related to Herpes Simplex Virus pathogenesis, the oncogenic role of KLF5, and 1p36.3 lncRNA encoded small protein, respectively. Prof. Vincent Cheung of the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) delivered a presentation titled “Neural manifolds and muscle synergies for motor control: A proposal”. The academic and student members of SBS also took part in this seminar and interacted with the researchers in KIZ to exchange research ideas.
