FAB FEST ’17

Date & Time

02.07.2017 10.07.2017

Location

University of Westminster, London

For the second year in a row, CUHK architecture students participated in the FAB FEST (International Fabrication Festival), organised by the University of Westminster in London, and awarded the Architecture Prize at the Festival. (Our students won the People’s Choice Award last year.)

With the theme of “Pop-up City”, FAB FEST ’17 invited design and architecture students from across the globe to create pavilions made from cardboard and other recyclable materials, proposing unique design ideas constructed with digital fabrication machines and/or hand tools.

Led by Prof. Adam Fingrut, two teams of seven CUHK students travelled to London in July 2017, where they assembled their pavilions developed as part of a summer elective course. The study trip provided a valuable opportunity for our students to learn from counterparts abroad, collaborate on design projects, and experience great architecture in London.
