Facilities
The CUHK School of Architecture is the only university programme in Hong Kong with its own dedicated building purpose-designed for the learning of architecture. The Lee Shau Kee Architecture Building, with an area of over 7,700 square metres, is conveniently located within the Chung Chi College near the University MTR station.
The Building was designed to accommodate the School’s specialised teaching and communal facilities, including design studios, workshops, laboratories, exhibition zones, Architecture Library, roof garden and classrooms. In particular, the central atrium allows daylight to penetrate the floors, and is creatively used as a dynamic space for presentation, exhibition and gathering purposes.
Architecture Library
The international collection covers architectural design and practice, construction and technology, history and theory, housing, landscape architecture, computer-aided design and city planning.
Design Studios
In our design studios, students are encouraged to unlock their creativity while sharpening their critical thinking to develop implementable design solutions to a wide range of social problems.
Digital Design Lab
The DDL provides a comprehensive range of software, machines and fabrication facilities to realise innovative design ideas – all available for student use 24/7.
Exhibition Zones
The multi-purpose zones have frequently been used for exhibitions, studio reviews, workshops, lectures and conferences, offering a stimulating environment for intellectual exchange.
Workshops
The School is equipped with several levels of workshops for students to produce architectural models related to design or research.
