About the Speakers:

Ivy Lee  – MD & Partner, L&O Limited

Ivy is the youngest and first female Managing Director of Leigh & Orange (L&O), an award-winning architectural firm founded in 1874, which is currently ranked in the world’s ‘Top 100’ architectural practices by World Architecture. She oversees L&O’s business development and operations in Hong Kong, China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Ivy obtained her 1st Class Honours degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a Registered Architect and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects. 

Ivy is a motivated leader and designer retaining her passion for architecture, sustainability and art, whilst balancing them with contributions to the community. She is the voice of the architectural profession within many government panels, including the Hong Kong Housing Authority, Energy Advisory Committee and Planning Department etc. She also acts as a pro bona Director of the Hong Kong Green Building Council and the Chairperson of BEAM (Building Environmental Assessment Method) Society.

Ivy embraces diversity and seeks design excellence and innovation in all project commissions. Her professional vision is guided by the underlying desire to create a sustainable and humane future for society by empowering future generations of industry professionals to be inspired to pursue creatively focused innovation. 

Ben Yeung – Chief Technical Advisor, Architectural Services Department

Ben graduated from CUHK with a Master of Architecture degree in 1997. He joined the architectural consultant firm Spence Robinson Ltd afterwards, and obtained his professional qualification as a Registered Architect and Authorized Person (List of Architects) in 2000 and 2003. In 2004, he joined the Buildings Department (BD) and worked in the New Building Division for 2 years before joining the Architectural Services Department (ArchSD). His first project in ArchSD is the co-location of Boundary Crossing Facilities at Shenzhen Bay Port.

He was closely involved in the development and project management of healthcare projects such as the Tin Shui Wai Community Health Centre, expansion of Tseung Kwan O Hospital, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, redevelopment of Kwai Chung Hospital and the Chinese Medicine Hospital. In 2020, he was involved in the fast-track construction of the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre using Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) technology. This hospital, equipped with 816 isolation beds and completed within four months, is one of the anti-epidemic facilities implemented by ArchSD.

Currently Ben leads the Central Management Division of ArchSD to support the senior management of the department. He also actively participates in the Innovative Construction Focus Group and the Corporate Intelligence Steering Committee of ArchSD to push forward initiatives such as wider adoption of advanced construction methods and information technology for the development and maintenance of public facilities.
