Introduction
The development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) is key to the strategic planning of the country, and Hong Kong plays an important role in promoting regional economic development. In this webinar, the speakers and discussants will focus on the limits to Hong Kong’s integration into the GBA and on the topic of subregional economic integration with Chinese characteristics. Three strands of economic theories on integration would be presented, namely, the classic European model, subregional economic integration, and economic liberalization and policy coordination, to explain the limited level of integration achieved by Hong Kong.
