GPS Leadership Workshop in January
Our Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Sung, was invited to share his wisdom and knowledge of leadership in a workshop for GPS students.
Professor Sung started the presentation with stories of plague and infectious crises, including but not limited to bubonic plague, SARS, Avian flu, Eloba outbreak, to illustrate how leaders manage to mitigate and cease the threats on the verge of massive infection.
Professor Sung emphasized the importance of academic, political and professional leadership, and reminded students to be compassionate, kind and optimistic in spite of the hindrances encountered. He remarked, sometimes leaders were necessary to make tough decisions, nevertheless a true leader would take the blame and share the glory with the team. He reminded students of GPS to be humble leaders, and also be prepared to collaborate with professionals from various disciplines, institutes and countries to tackle with future health crises.
