Global trends of testicular cancer incidence and mortality
Testicular cancer is a common malignancy among young males in western countries. This study examined the global disease burden and trends of testicular cancer and mortality by age and country. It identified that there was a higher and increasing testicular cancer incidence in the younger population associated with a higher human development index, GDP per capita, and higher prevalence of alcohol drinking, inactivity, overweight, obesity, and hypercholesterolaemia. However, there has been a remarkable decrease in mortality rate over the past decade. Early diagnosis, access to treatments, centralisation of care may have contributed to this declining trend.
