Biography

Prof. Leslie Young is an Emeritus Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. He was Wei Lun Professor of Finance and Executive Director of the Asia-Pacific Institute of Business at CUHK. Born in Guangzhou, Prof. Young holds BSc and MSc degrees from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and a DPhil in Mathematics from the University of Oxford. He has published more than 40 articles in leading academic journals.

He served as V F Neuhaus Professor of Finance and Professor of Economics at the University of Texas at Austin in 1983-1992. His previous positions include a Fellowship in Economics at Lincoln College, Oxford and Senior Lecturership in Economics at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. He has also held Visiting Professorships at Australian National University, MIT and the University of California at Berkeley. Prof. Young has also served as consultants for the Governments of Mexico, Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and New Zealand.
