Re: Declaration of Major Programme for 2022-23

Dear Students,

Please be informed of the following in relation to declaration of major for the coming academic year 2022-23.  You MUST observe the notice of the Faculty concerned for the requirements and follow their prescribed procedures, if any.

1. Declaration of major within the Faculty of Engineering
   
   Students of Engineering Programme (Code: BERGN) should declare their major programme in accordance with the deadlines and instructions set by the Faculty.  Students are required to submit their preferences on the major programme via the Faculty online major declaration system (https://major.erg.cuhk.edu.hk/).  Advanced Standing students who have already confirmed with the Faculty Office on their major are not required to do the major declaration.
   
   
2. Declaration of major within the Faculty of Science
   
   Application period:              9 - 20 June 2022
   CUSIS System Function:　Science Major Registration
   
   Students who have not declared for a major programme in Phase I should use the “Science Major Registration” function under CUSIS during the above application period to declare the major programme.  Please observe the notice of the Faculty for details (http://www.sci.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/current-students/ug/curriculum/major-declaration).
   
   
3. Declaration of Major within the Faculty of Social Science
   
   Application period:              25 May - 7 June 2022
   CUSIS System Function:　Declare Major
   
   Students admitted to Social Science Programme (Code: BSSCN) should follow the information as announced by the Faculty (https://sscbroadbased.cuhk.edu.hk/en/current_students/major_declaration) to declare major within the above application period.

Students who successfully declare a major programme will receive a formal notification letter from RES by late July 2022.  Student records under CUSIS will be updated with effect from 1 August 2022 showing the new major programme.

Students who wish to transfer to a new major programme outside their own Faculty should observe RES announcement on the subject in May 2022.  Students without completion of the declaration of major in accordance with the above-mentioned procedures or have not been able to register for a major programme will NOT be able to change to another major.
