中研院院士陳長謙獲總統科學獎
總統科學獎委員會今（2021年10月1日）公布「2020-2021年總統科學獎」得獎名單，獲獎人為「數理科學組」中研院院士陳長謙。 總統科學獎委員會表示，今年膺選的總統科學獎得獎人陳長謙院士，長期深耕物理化學及生物分子專業領域，並不斷進行科學創新突破，成果豐碩，成就非凡。其科學成就及重要貢獻，不僅提升台灣學術聲譽及國際競爭力，對於增進人類生活福祉更有深遠的影響，實為台灣學術界的最高典範。 總統科學獎委員會說，總統科學獎設立，是以提升台灣在國際學術界之地位為宗旨，並獎勵數理科學、生命科學、社會科學及應用科學領域在國際學術研究上具創新性且貢獻卓著之學者，尤以對台灣社會有重大貢獻之基礎學術研究人才為優先獎勵對象。 依照《總統科學獎遴選要點》規定，總統科學獎委員會由中央研究院院長擔任召集人，科技部部長擔任副召集人，共15位委員組成。自2001年開始舉辦，每兩年頒發一屆，是我國最高榮譽之科學研究獎項。 總統科學獎委員會表示，本屆總統科學獎共計收到6件提名案，經各遴選小組進行審查，以及總統科學獎委員會聯席會議討論票選後，提報總統府核定表揚。 為表彰得獎人之貢獻，預定於11月1日舉行頒獎典禮，將由總統親自頒發獎狀1幀、獎座1座及獎金新臺幣200萬元 此信息轉自台灣蘋果新聞網
