About Conference

The Institute of Chinese Studies introduces the ICS International Conference Series at CUHK. Every other year, ICS will sponsor a major international conference on any topics related to the study of China. Faculty members in China-related research in all disciplines at CUHK are invited to submit a conference proposal. Proposals that advance interdisciplinary research agenda and promote collaboration among colleagues from different units (departments, faculties, and even universities) are highly encouraged. Proposed conferences should try to engage both CUHK graduate and undergraduate students.

Expectations

• Each conference will be a two-day event.
• Around 20-30 participants will be invited.
• At least half of the participants from CUHK or local universities and institutions.

Procedures

• An ICS committee will review all received proposals and recommend one for ICS support.
• Colleagues whose proposal is selected will develop the conference program with the support of ICS staff.
• ICS will support the publication of a volume based on conference proceedings.
• More detailed information on the organization of the conference series will be available in due course.
