The CUHK GBS team has made it to the top five in the Champions Trophy Case Competition 2016 last month in Auckland. An annual event organized by The University of Auckland Business School, 12 of the strongest case competition universities are invited to send students to New Zealand for this one-week competition.
Four year-two GBS students, including Joyce Mok, Michelle Wong, Milton Lam and Gary Fung, competed against students 11 from the internationally renowned universities across the globe in three preliminary rounds. Students were asked to formulate strategic plans for various businesses in the country including tourism app, charitable organization, healthcare company and Uber. Within the short preparation time of each round of four hours, the CUHK team has managed to analyze and develop strategies and recommendation for different cases, and made it through the final round.
Apart from the intensive case drillings and presentations, a series of social events have been arranged for the students to get to know each other and to explore exotic culture before the rigorous case days began. For details of the competition, please visit http://www.champions-trophy.co.nz/
