On 2 March 2013, Bonnie Chiu and Peggy Tse of GBS Batch 6 are chosen as the finalist team in the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC), a pioneering inter-collegiate social venture business plan competition organized by the Center of Entrepreneurship of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The team has been very passionate in gender inequality and female economic dependency issues in Southeast Asia. Their venture, namely Lensational, has employed a creative yet entrepreneurial approach to tackle the problem. Through photography, the team aims to empower women economically and emotionally. The idea is well supported by concrete action plans and reasonable financial projections.
The mission of HKSEC is to generate innovate and practical social enterprise ideas through engagement of multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional teams and to encourage young people to implement their ideas.
