A Field Trip to Guangzhou was conducted from 16-17 January 2015 for Batch 9, consisting of local CUHK students and incoming exchange students from Partner Universities, namely Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). The field trip aims at unveiling the gist of running a business in China and strengthening the bonding among students.
The group toured around Qinghai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Corporation Zone to learn about how the government encourage business start-up; learnt about manufacturing joint-venture by visiting Guangqi Honda Automobile Co Ltd and about state-owned enterprise by visiting Zhujiang Brewery Group Co., Ltd. Students were also exposed to Chinese architecture and brief local history by visiting Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Chen Clan Academy and Nanhai Temple.
By going out of the classroom, the trip served its objective to inspire students to apply classroom knowledge at real-life business.
