27th Annual Scientific Meeting – Hong Kong Ophthalmological Symposium 2015

The Hong Kong Ophthalmological Symposium 2015 (http://www.hkos.org.hk/?section=Top&id=13) was held successfully at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 12-13 December 2015. The symposium was kicked-off by renowned international speakers Professor Terri Young (University of Wisconsin, USA) and Professor Geoffrey Rose (Moorfields Eye Hospital, UK). Several of our faculty members also contributed significantly to organizing the symposium by giving lectures to share their research findings. Professor Chi Pui Calvin Pang gave a keynote lecture with title “Detection of childhood eye diseases”.

Selected topics presented by our faculty members:
1. Detection of childhood eye diseases (Keynote Lecture) by Professor Chi Pui Calvin PANG
2. Hong Kong Children Eye Study by Dr. Jason YAM
3. A novel preamplified electrode for improving electroretinography recordings by Dr. Marten E. BRELEN
4. Identification of the placental growth factor gene as a new genetic biomarker for neovascular age-related macular degeneration by Dr. Lijia CHEN
