We are glad to announce that CUHK Eye Centre has been nominated for the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s 2021 Positive Workplace Service (PWS) Awards (team category) by our Chairman, Prof. Clement THAM. The PWS award scheme aims to identify and recognize the individual behavior and team practices radiating positive energy and promoting a positive workplace culture in the University.

In his nomination, Prof. Tham mentioned that our Eye Centre is full of positivity in the workplace. The highlights of the entry are listed as follows:

• Active communication with patients at the waiting area to gather their thoughts on clinic’s services
• Consistent reflection & evaluation on services for optimal patient-oriented performance
• No distinct hierarchy within our team, many senior staff are very approachable & patient in teaching junior staff, being understanding of the careless mistakes they made
• Celebrate every staff success together as a team

Although the result of PWS award is still pending, we should nonetheless give ourselves a big applause on our effort and remember our work motto: “Seeing a Better Tomorrow 關顧今天，瞻眸未來”
