We are much delighted to announce that our Associate Professor Dr Jason CS YAM, nominated by Prof Clement CY THAM, has received the 7th Youth DreamMakers Award from the Youth DreamMakers Association on the 4th of December 2021. Since 2011, Youth DreamMakers Association gives this award each year to up to 10 young persons who have pursued their dreams with significant impact on the society.
Dr Yam believes that every child should have the basic right to see the world clearly. Dr Yam and his team establish effective method using low concentration atropine eye drops to slow down childhood myopia progression to prevent our next generations from developing eye diseases due to high myopia in future. His team has also started a territory-wide community children eye care programme for school children and their parents. So far more than 30,000 children and their families have been served in the past 7 years.
