Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common intraocular cancer in children. Late-stage identification of the disease may require enucleation or lead to fatality. We are honoured to have Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) visiting the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences on 29 October 2016. Our Department Chairman Prof Clement Tham gave welcome remark and introduction of our Department. CCF Vice-Chairman Mr Edward Yu and Governor Mr Benson Cheung shared the mission, vision and values of the Foundation. Assistant Professors Dr Jason Yam and Dr WK Chu from our department presented our work of the awareness campaign and scientific research in RB and other childhood cancers. Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist Dr Simon Ko from the Tung Wah Eastern Hospital also shared his expertise in paediatric ophthalmology. We all pledged to work together to help the patients and their families in fighting against cancer.
