The Hong Kong Children Eye Programme Ambassador Award Ceremony was held on 16th December, 2017. We were honoured to invite Prof Chair Sek Ying (Director and Professor, the Nethersole School of Nursing, CUHK) and Prof Janita Chau (Professor of the Nethersole School of Nursing and the Assistant Dean (Alumni Affairs) of the Faculty of Medicine, CUHK) to attend our ceremony. Prior to the award ceremony, Prof Clement Tham, our Chairman, gave a welcome speech to our honored guests. Our colleagues then guided the tour of our core facilities in Lee Wing Kit Advanced Ophthalmic Training and Education Centre, Lim Por-yen Eye Genetics Research Centre, Pao So Kok Macular Disease Treatment and Research Centre, CUHK Ophthalmic Research Centre and CUHK Ophthalmic Microsurgical Training Centre.
The Hong Kong Children Eye Programme Ambassador Award Ceremony started immediately after the tour with the speeches of Prof Clement Tham (our Chairman), Prof Calvin Pang (Director, CUHK Ophthalmic Research Centre), Dr Jason Yam (Director of the Hong Kong Children Eye Programme) and Prof Alvin Young (Deputy Hospital Chief Executive [Professional Development & External Relations], Prince of Wales Hospital). Prof Alvin Young presented the Hong Kong Eye Care Ambassador Awards to our ambassadors for their significant contributions to our programme during 2015 – 2017. The awardees shared their experience in the programme and Dr Jason Yam highlighted on the latest advances in ophthalmic research and community programmes. Last but not least, we were delighted to receive encouragement from Mr Kenny Choi and Mr Cheung Sun Kit, the Honorary Consultants of Hong Kong Children Eye Programme. Our team will keep on our mission to help the children and their family in Hong Kong through the Hong Kong Children Eye Programme.
Congratulations to the Hong Kong Children Eye Programme for its achievements in the past three years and we wish the team all the best in the coming years!
