The unit is a training centre of maternal-fetal medicine accredited by both The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Both Colleges’ subspecialty training programs consist of 2-year clinical and 1-year research training (the research year can be exempted when a trainee has already have adequate research experience and scientific publication).

In addition, the unit also offer a program in Master of Science in medical genetics, which was first launched in 2014.
