Our MBChB-GPS graduate of this year has received the “Dean’s Outstanding Research Award 2020”

Timothy P.H. LIN, our MBChB-GPS graduate of this year, has received the “Dean’s Outstanding Research Award 2020” for his work at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Timothy has worked under the supervision of Prof. Clement Tham and Dr. Carol Cheung to investigate the retinal vascular changes in normal tension glaucoma (NTG) through advanced ocular imaging. His research at the department has confirmed the association between degeneration in retinal vasculature and NTG. He has recently presented his findings in both local and overseas conferences, and the results have been published in peer-reviewed journals.

Timothy’s work with our faculty currently focuses on exploring the role of artificial intelligence in the evaluation of ocular images of NTG patients, which hopes to facilitate the clinical adoption of retinal vasculature analysis for risk assessment and prognosis of NTG.

Congratulations to Timothy!
