Established in 1996, the Fetal Medicine Unit of The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong has become the largest fetal medicine centre in Hong Kong. The Unit is accredited by both the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as the subspecialty training centre. Besides local trainees, the unit also attracts many doctors and scientists from China and various countries to come for training.

The unit also co-organises various high-quality training courses with international organisations including Fetal Medicine Foundation and International Academy of Medical Ultrasound. The latest development of the unit is One-stop clinic for prenatal screening of Down syndrome andlaser therapy for Twin-twin transfusion syndrome.
