Assessment
Chanwuyi Research Center provides intellectual ability and neuropsychological assessments that meet the international standard to evaluate the cognitive functions of individuals. In addition, early screening test can be conducted to help early identify young children at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
IQ Assessment:
The following tools will be used to evaluate the intellectual ability of an individual:
- The Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale (5th Edition) (ages 2 or above)
- Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (Chinese) (ages 3 to 6)
- Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children- 4th Edition (Hong Kong) (ages 6 to 16 years 11 months)
- Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale- 4th Edition (Hong Kong) (ages 16-90)
Neuropsychological assessment:
The following domains of cognitive function can be evaluated through a neuropsychological assessment:
- Attention
- Memory
- Language
- Visual perception
- Motor
- Executive functions
- Psychosocial functioning
Early Screening Test for Autism Spectrum Disorder
The Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers & Young Children (STAT) is used to screen for autism in children aged between 12 – 36 months. The STAT was developed by Prof. Wendy Stone and Dr. Opal Ousley from the Vanderbilt University, United States. It is an empirically derived, and interactive measure designed to identify children with autism at the possible youngest age. Hence, children at-risk can be referred for further assessment or intervention in a timely manner. Chanwuyi Research Center is currently providing this screening test to assess the social communicative behaviors of children. Please contact us if you wish to get an early screening for your child.
Training
Neuropsychological Training
Chanwuyi Research Center provides neuropsychological training that aims to improve the cognitive functions of individuals with difficulties in language, attention, memory and/or impulse control. The training will utilize eye-tracking and instant feedback technologies, and a variety of evidenced-based tools, such as pictures of real-life scenarios, social stories, and attention exercise, to help improve individuals’ cognitive functions. In addition, the training can include learning of the Chanwuyi experimental method to help individuals enhance cognitive functions in multidimensional ways. With the enhanced cognitive functions, individuals will have better-developed learning abilities, and their challenging behaviors at home and school will also be potentially reduced.
Target:
Individuals with difficulties in language, attention, memory and/or impulse control.
Training Time:
One 40-minute session per week
