简介
CUHK is hosting the “(Re-)Mining Text: From Traditional to Digital” symposium on 19 Mar 2019 (Tue) that explores the latest techniques and applications of text-mining. Text-mining studies in both English and Chinese, and in both microscopic and macroscopic perspectives would be covered.

The one-day symposium will have a keynote speech given by Professor J. Stephen Downie, Professor and Associate Dean for Research, School of Information Sciences at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the Illinois Co-Director of the HathiTrust Research Center. The three panels in the Symposium on English Text and Social Media, Hong Kong Literature, and Chinese Text will have scholars from the National Taiwan University, Leiden University, CUHK, and universities in Hong Kong to share their research projects on text mining.

In the panel of English Text and Social Media, Prof. Kong Siu Cheung of EdUHK, one of the collaborators of KEEP, will share his studies in applying bilingual text-mining for personalized learning reflection.

The event is co-organized by The Hong Kong Literature Research Centre and CUHK Library as the second Digital Scholarship Symposium. The programme and more information can be founded on the event webpage.
