KEEP eLearning Community of Practice

13 Jan 2017, Fri
The KEEP eLearning Community of Practice hosted this year on 13 January 2017 was one way KEEP has been supporting collaboration and furthering Hong Kong's eLearning ecosystem. Representatives from Hong Kong's tertiary institutions including the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Education University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Baptist University, and City University of Hong Kong came to the Chinese University of Hong Kong to share ideas, build community, and learn from one another's eLearning teams.

During the session, each university shared culture, team spirit, innovations, and best practices from their particular institution. Participants also had opportunities to discuss various topics such as gamification, pedagogy, learning management systems, etc in smaller focused discussion groups. These opportunities to gather were great ways for participants from various disciplines and roles to build communities so that there could be greater collaboration amongst the institutions in the future.

The community of practice concluded with remarks from Prof. Irwin King, principle investigator for the KEEP project, as well as a lunch and tour of the ELITE Centre, the Centre for eLearning innovation and technology, at CUHK. Participants shared how this was an incredibly valuable experience not simply because of the content, but because of the relationships and connections that were built across Hong Kong.

KEEP continues to strive to build such meaningful connections and collaboration across institutions in Hong Kong. If you would like to participate in future activities, contact info@keep.edu.hk.
