University Libraries Launched Information Literacy MOOC

The libraries of all 8 UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong has launched the InfoLit for U online course to help their students use information wisely for effective university learning and tackle professional challenges after graduation.

The representatives from each university gathered in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) today for the launching ceremony of the course.






The course is self-paced and non-credit bearing offered on KEEPCourse,  and suitable for undergraduate students in all years of study. They will begin from learning the basics of information literacy such as finding and analyzing information, then delve into discipline-related skills according to their subjects of study, such as Engineering and Science.

The course is a part of the project "Enhancing information literacy in Hong Kong higher education through the development and implementation of shared interactive multimedia courseware" funded by the UGC Funding Scheme for Teaching and Learning Related Proposals (2012-15 Triennium). The project is led by PolyU, while each collaborating university contributed to a discipline module in the course.
