The scheme is arranged by the Sub-Committee on Education Technologies of the CUHK's IT Governance Committee, aiming at encouraging teachers to move forward from the basic use of eLearning towards developing more sophisticated or more complete eLearning environments for their students. In the academic year 2017-18,
6 projects were funded by the scheme, where online learning materials on language, law, pharmacy and social work studies were produced.
CUHK teachers have been producing online learning materials on the university’s Blackboard system and KEEP, a CUHK-developed eLearning platform designed for a more comprehensive online learning experience. To produce these materials like videos, teachers can consult the
Centre for eLearning Innovation and Technology (ELITE), where they can also settle the production expense using the funding provided by CDGS.
Under the scheme, teachers are required to put the material online by 31 May 2019 and submit a report for evaluation.
