Who should take the courses?
Basically, anyone interested in common age-related health issues can take our courses.

 

When will the courses end?
The courses will run until the end of 2022 tentatively.

 

Are the courses free of charge?
Yes, the courses are free of charge. All of the courses and training materials are developed under the project of Jockey Club Cadenza e-Tools for Elder Care, which is funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charity Trust.

 

How many courses will there be?
There will be 12 courses related to the care of older adults with common age-related health issues. You can view the current courses in the "All Courses" page. Some of the courses will be released in due course.

 

What is the different between Elder Care Training Courses for Professionals and Elderly Care Tips for Public?
For Elder Care Training Courses for Professionals, target audience is health and social care professionals such as nurses, social workers, paramedical and other health care related practitioner. The medium of instruction is English supplemented with Chinese subtitles.
For the Elderly Care Tips for Public, target audience is the general public and the medium of instruction is Chinese. Content in this version is simplified and sometimes presented in a relaxed manner.

 

Are the courses self-paced or scheduled?
All of our courses are self-paced. You can access to the courses anytime and anywhere as long as you have internet access.

 

How do I enroll into a course?
For the courses for professionals, you can choose the course that you are interested in from the All Courses (Professional) page. Then click the "Start" button to watch the materials. No registration is required.

For the elder care tips for public, you can choose the topic that you are interested in from the All Courses (Public) page. Then click on any video that you would like to watch. No registration is required.

 

Are the courses CNE accredited?
We (CUHK Jockey Club Institute of Ageing) are one of the accredited Providers of Continuing Nursing Education. The Elderly Care Training Courses for Professionals are accredited, nurses in Hong Kong who complete a course and reach the passing marks in the quizzes will be eligible for a CNE certificate. The certificate will be awarded with the Hong Kong Nursing Council CNE points.

 

How do I get a certificate?
Only learners of the Courses for Professionals are eligible for a certificate. For the details of getting a certificate, please refer to "How to get a certificate".

 

Will there be a date of completion stated on my CNE cert?
Yes, we count a 4-month period as 1 issue. The period will be marked on your CNE cert to state which issue of course you have completed, the issues will be depending on the certificate issuance date. Issues of courses are as below:

Can I retake the quizzes?
Yes, the quizzes allow multiple attempts. If you would like to retake a quiz, you will need to retake the whole quiz.
