Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR Visits the CUHK State Key Laboratories
Mr. Jiang Jianxiang, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region led a 3-member delegation to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 2 March. The delegates paid visit to the State Key Laboratories in CUHK to understand the latest developments in their endeavours as well as progress of research achievements.The delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology, State Key Laboratory of Research on Bioactivities and Clinical Applications of Medicinal Plants, State Key Laboratory of Translational Oncology and State Key Laboratory of Digestive Disease, where the Directors gave introduction and tour of the respective laboratories.
The premise of State Key Laboratory is to enable China’s most accomplished scientists and scholars to conduct pioneering research to further support China’s technological and economic development. With the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, CUHK has established five state key laboratories.
CUHK Prof. Wong Kam-Fai Visits the Qingdao West Coast New Area
On 12 March, Prof. Wong Kam-Fai, Associate Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Director of the Centre for Innovation and Technology, CUHK, and his party visited the Qingdao West Coast New Area. Prof. Wang Tengjiao, President of the Institute of Computational Social Science, Peking University (Qingdao), and his party accompaniepd the visit. Prof. Wong Kam-Fai and Prof. Wang Tengjiao are also respectively Director (CUHK Sub-Laboratory) and Associate Director (Peking University Laboratory) of Ministry of Education (MoE) Key Laboratory of High Confidence Software Technologies. Both parties discussed to further collaborate in innovative technology and industry-education-research knowledge transfer, and to facilitate the integration of CUHK research achievements in the Qingdao West Coast New Area.
Faculty of Engineering of CUHK and School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science of Peking University established the MoE Key Laboratory of High Confidence Software Technologies (Sub-Laboratory, The Chinese University of Hong Kong) in 2010 to collaborate in scientific research in high confidence software technologies.
