詳情 | 22 January 2021 (Fri) | 5:30 – 7:00pm Jeffery Andrews is an Indian by descent, born and raised in Hong Kong. He is one of the first ethnic minority registered social workers in Hong Kong. Committed to helping refugees, Jeffery’s work often takes him to Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui, where he stands out with his perfect grasp of Cantonese, his educated demeanour, and the assured confidence that comes from being a Hongkonger at heart. He will share the history of Ethnic Minority in HK, the systemic racism, policies that have hindered their integration and the finally civic participation.
25 January 2021 (Mon) | 6:30 – 8:00pm A vague region with a rather arbitrary name, commonly associated with religious strife and civil war – but with a fascinating history. In this session, we will challenge our assumptions about this frequently misrepresented part of the world, and learn about Arabia and Persia, about culture, modern and ancient, about politics and poetry. With the help of guests from various Middle Eastern countries and cultures, we will explore the basics of this region in a casual and comfortable environment. |
