Referring to the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, the Belt and Road Initiative (B&R) promotes connectivity and international economic co-operation among countries in Asia, Europe and Africa.   The Central government issued its “Vision and Actions on Jointly Building Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road” in March 2015 to further elaborate the development ideas and blueprint of the Belt and Road Initiative. The document also outlined the Five Cooperation Priorities in promoting market integration and strengthening the economic cooperation framework among the regions.
