About IP Phone & Data Port Services

  1. How do I apply for IP Phone & Data Port Service?
    Departments interested in the services should contact ipt@itsc.cuhk.edu.hk for details.
  2. When will the Unified Communication functions be available?
    Advanced Unified Communication functions are expected to be available in 2012.
  3. If I have enquiry on the OLD telephone system, should I call ITSC?
    Estate Management Office will handle requests and enquiries of the OLD telephone system until all telephones are migrated to the IP Phone system.
  4. Can I obtain new extension numbers from ITSC?
    Please approach Estate Management Office for new extension number requests if your office is not yet an IP Phone subscriber. If your office is currently using IP Phone system, or pending to add new extensions while migrating to IP Phone system, please address your request by email: ipt@itsc.cuhk.edu.hk.
  5. How can I access the web Unified CM User Options system?
    The web system can be accessed via https://callmanager.cuhk.edu.hk/ccmuser.

About Voicemail System

  1. What is the password (PIN) of my voicemail system?
    Your password (PIN) is initially assigned with “112233” by default. You should change your password immediately after your IP Phone is installed. Please login the voicemail system using

    • Your IP phone set -> press -> 4 -> 3 -> 1
    • Other phone set -> dial 3943 8880 -> enter your last five digit telephone number -> 4 -> 3 -> 1

    If you have forgotten your password, please contact the support (3943 8877 / ipt@itsc.cuhk.edu.hk). For security reason, any requests related to password reset are only accepted by calling to hotline through your own IP Phone or department contact person.

  2. Is my voicemail password (PIN) same as the web Cisco CM User Options System?
    The default password is the same which is “112233”. However, these passwords are not synchronized, i.e. changing one password would not lead to a change of another password. You need to use the phone set to change the voicemail password and login the web system for the web password.
  3. How can I check my voicemail when I am using another phone set such as my mobile phone?
    Please dial to 3943 8880. You should then hear a greeting message inviting you to enter your ID (i.e. last five digits of your phone number) and the voicemail password. After a successful login, the system will read out messages (if any) that left in your mailbox.

About Web Cisco Unified CM User Options System

  1. What is the URL, username and password of the web Cisco Unified CM User Options system?
    Here is your account information:

    For example, the username of number 3943 8877 is E38877 and its initial password is 112233.

  2. Is my password on the web Cisco Unified CM User Options system same as the voicemail system?
    The default password is the same which is 112233. However, these passwords are not synchronized, i.e. changing one password would not lead to a change of another password. You need to use the phone set to change voicemail password and login the web system for the web password.
  3. What is the function of web Cisco Unified CM User Options system?
    Through the web Cisco Unified CM User Options system (https://callmanager.cuhk.edu.hk/ccmuser), you can

    • change web password / Phone PIN;
    • program speed dial;
    • manage personal phone book; and
    • set call forward online

  4. What is the use of Phone PIN that asked in the web Cisco Unified CM User Options system?
    The function of Phone PIN is for accessing Personal Directory, for example, Personal Address Book or Personal Fast Dial on the physical phone set.
  5. Is it possible to update the IP Phone Contacts/Directory in batch mode, e.g. by importing a text file?
    The IP Telephony System of CUHK is rely on Cisco Unified Communications Manager and there is no such feature in the web Cisco Unified CM User Options System

About Call Forwarding

  1. Will the caller see my number when a call is forwarded to my mobile phone?
    No, the caller will see the dialled number only no matter the call has forwarded to another IP Phone number (so forth) or any personal phone number.
