Eligible holders:

• Full-time appointees on Terms (A), (B), (C), (HA-equivalent), and equivalent terms (including those on no-pay leave or on term secondment from the University)
• Appointees on fractional time (instead of part-time) appointments of at least 50%
• Hostel wardens as primary appointment
• Former VCs/PVCs/College Heads
• Emeritus Professors
• College Honorary Fellows
• Senior College Tutors
• Full-time staff of HKIB (and those residing on campus)
• Such other cases as may be approved by AAC
  • Label holders must have driving licence
  • Vehicles registered in label holder's own name/spouse's name
  • No overnight parking is permitted

Label AR

Eligible holders :

• Resident appointees holding valid driving licence
  • Vehicles registered in label holder’s own name/spouse’s name
  • Overnight parking is permitted in the area of residence

Label E

Eligible holders :

• Resident appointees without driving licence but with cars driven by registered family members residing on campus
• Resident appointees with AR label may apply for one extra E label for registered family members residing on campus
  • Vehicles registered in label holder’s own name/spouse’s name
  • Overnight parking is permitted in the area of residence
• Non-resident full time appointees without driving licence but with cars driven by family members to/from the campus
  • Vehicles registered in label holder’s own name/spouse’s name
  • No overnight parking is permitted

• All University Council and College Board of Trustees members
• University Honorary Graduates and Honorary Fellows
• Guests or VIPs designated by VC or AAC as appropriate
  • No overnight parking is permitted

Eligible holders :

• Resident disabled undergraduates/postgraduates holding proof of disability from government and a valid driving licence
• Resident undergraduates on special and compassionate grounds, as recommended by the Office of Student Affairs or the College Deans of Students’ Office and approved by AAC
  • Vehicles registered in label holder’s own name/spouse’s name/close family member's name
  • Overnight parking is permitted in the area of hostel

Eligible holders :

• Current office bearers of Alumni Associations
• Former Faculty Deans
• Honorary/Adjunct teaching staff
• Honorary Senior/Honorary Research Fellows
• Retired full-time appointees who have served the University for 10 years or more consecutively before retirement
  • Label S is entitled to free parking on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays only
  • Vehicles registered in label holder’s own name/spouse’s name
  • No overnight parking is permitted

Label AM (fee-charging)

Eligible holders :

• Full time appointees who due to special work related reasons (e.g. frequent overnight official duties) need to park overnight on campus regularly
  • With strong justification/support from and fee borne by affiliating departments with approval by AAC
  • Overnight parking is permitted at designated locations

Label B (fee-charging)

Eligible holders : 

• Resident postgraduates holding vaild driving licence and must drive himeself/herself
  • Vehicles registered in label holder's own name/spouse's name/close family member's name
  • Overnight parking is permitted in the area of hostel

Label D (fee-charging)

Eligible holders : 

• Contractors/organisations as approved by the University
  • Overnight parking is permitted at designated locations

Label DD/DM (fee-charging)

Eligible holders : 

• Contractors/organisations as approved by the University
  • No overnight parking is permitted

Eligible Holders

Application Form

• Qualified part-time appointees
• Current office bearers of Alumni Associations
• Visitors on business
• Visitors to campus residents
  • A maximum of two Limited Time Free Parking Coupons can be used for the same visit
  • Overnight parking is not permitted for visitor vehicles (except guest vehicles parking at the car park outside University Guest House and visitor vehicles within the area of residence.)
  • Qualified part-time appointees can obtain through Units/Departments an appropriate number of Limited Time Free Parking Coupons
  • The Alumni Affairs Office is responsible for distributing Limited Time Free Parking Coupons to current office bearers of Alumni Associations (each of them may be given up to 40 coupons each year)
  • Faculties/Departments/residents may issue Limited Time Free Parking Coupons to visitors
  • All units authorized to issue Limited Time Free Parking Coupons must complete the Coupons Usage Record sheets provided by the Security Office for audit purposes

  • May buy an appropriate number of Pre-paid Parking Coupons ($20 each for parking up to 5 hours)
  • About 20% more than the total number of teaching days on campus in the current term
  • No more than two coupons can be used for the same visit
  • No overnight parking is permitted
