Introduction:

The course will cover some basic elements within robotics, from the introduction to the role of robotics in the modern society, the history and the state-of-the-art developments in robotics, to some basic concepts in robotics related to the modelling, control and feedback. In addition to lecture classes, the hands-on component would allow students to apply their learnt knowledge to enable robot manipulators to perform some specific tasks.

Learning outcomes:   Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
  1. Appreciate the role of robotics in the modern society and its challenges
  2. Learn about the components of a robot or robotic system
  3. Extend STEM knowledge learnt in secondary education to the study of robotics
  4. Gain hands-on experience in commanding robot arms to perform different actions

*Students who complete the course and meet its requirement can apply for credit exemption when they study at CUHK
 
Expected applicants:   Students who are studying in S6 (must have taken one in Science course)
Science course include Biology, Chemistry, Combined Science, Physics, Information and Communication Technology, Design and Applied Technology and Mathematics Extended Module 1 or 2.
