Call for Applications: United Board – Adaptive Design for Learning Online Course (CUHK Internal Application Deadline: 20 May 2021)
The United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (United Board) is offering a faculty development opportunity through the Adaptive Design for Learning (ADL) online course offered by Ateneo de Manila University’s Institute for the Science and Art of Learning and Teaching.
ADL is an online certificate course for educators who are preparing for online teaching, e.g., designing a new online course or redesigning an old course for online teaching. It aligns with the main objectives of the Whole Person Education Academy, i.e., facilitating whole-person learning and teaching and designing a person-centric learning environment.
CUHK is a member of the United Board and up to three candidates will be nominated for the programme. The United Board will offer 50 places in total and cover the course fee for the selected applicants. Interested CUHK teaching staff are encouraged to apply.

| Format | The course includes six asynchronous modules and five synchronous webinars. Course takers are expected to participate in discussion boards and submit individual assessments and projects, including a course syllabus and 2-3 modules on an online platform. After the completion of the ADL course, course takers are expected to submit reflections and action plans to the United Board. |

| Selection Criteria | Selection will be based on the need and purpose of educators and their institutions and the quality of the application. |
| Application | Interested applicants should complete the CUHK internal application form and return it to Ms. Olivia Kwok at the Office of Academic Links (oliviakwok@cuhk.edu.hk) by 20 May (Thur). Up to three CUHK teaching staff will be selected for nomination to the United Board.
Nominees will be informed by 28 May (Fri). Shortlisted candidates will be invited by the United Board for an interview in June – July. Application results will be announced by the end of July. |
