Interdisciplinary Summer School for Chinese Students at the University of Novid Sad, Serbia
What is the first thing that rings in your mind when we say “Serbia”? A country that was in turmoil in the 1990s? The homeland of inventor – Nikola Tesla who contributed to modern electricity supply system and famous tennis player – Novak Djokovic? The Serbian Football Team? Whatever your answer is, this southeastern European country has so much more for you to discover and explore. Now, there is an opportunity for you to do exactly that at Novi Sad, a historical Serbian city on the bank of the Danube.
Hosted by the University of Novi Sad, one of the largest universities in Serbia and Central Europe, the Interdisciplinary Summer School will earn you 3 units towards your university general education requirements in 10 days. To make this offer even more attractive, CUHK will cover the 500 EUR programme fee for you. So seize the opportunity and embark on a fascinating journey!
You will be introduced to Serbia and southeastern Europe through a series of lectures on a wide variety of topics. You will be able to understand why Serbia has been the centre stage of ethnic conflicts for the past couple of decades and what has shaped today’s Serbia.
Novi Sad is the second largest city in Serbia, the engine of innovation in the Balkans and the European Capital of Culture 2021. Explore the city’s baroque town centre, cultural hotspots and latest developments in field trips that bring you around the city, and visit the country’s capital of Belgrade. Know more about Serbia and introduce Chinese culture to local students through cultural exchange activities.
The programme is open to CUHK students who have completed Year 1 or above with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7. More information of the programme can be found in the brochure.
