McDonnell International Scholars Academy Scholarship Programme 2021-22
The Washington University in St. Louis, USA, is inviting applications to the McDonnell International Scholars Academy (McDonnell Academy) for admission in 2021–22.
The McDonnell Academy is a scholarship programme for graduates of its partner universities, including CUHK. It aims to attract talented international students for advanced educational experiences, and provides a means for the University to learn more about the global community. Applicants should submit the personal essay as required by the McDonnell Academy to the Office of Academic Links (c/o Ms. Alice Leong; hyleong@cuhk.edu.hk) by the internal deadline on 13 January 2021 for review.

ACU Medical Student Virtual Mobility Grants
Application to the Medical Student Virtual Mobility Grants offered by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is now open. Staff members of the Faculty of Medicine are welcome to make use of the opportunity to organise virtual student mobility programmes for medical students.
Objective
Provide funding for medical schools to deliver virtual mobility projects in partnership with medical schools at ACU member universities in other countries, with the aim of increasing students’ knowledge of global health.
Scope of Projects
- Students from the two partner institutions collaborating on an assessed project
- A virtual event such as an online summer school
Grants
Two grants of GBP 5,000 maximum will be available. The grant will be split between the two collaborating universities. One grant will fund an exchange between a UK medical school and a medical school in a low or middle-income country, while the other grant has no geographical limitations.

EPFLglobaLeaders International Doctoral Fellowship Programme offered by École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)
Application to the new EPFLglobaLeaders International Doctoral Fellowship Programme offered by École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland is now open.
Graduate students are encouraged to make use of this opportunity to pursue overseas studies.
Objective
Provide funding for early stage researchers to become leaders in the transition towards sustainable societies. A total of 48 doctoral fellows will benefit from a multifaceted training programme, including a secondment in a non-academic sector.
Fellowship
Monthly salary of EUR1,935 for 48 months
Eligibility
- Open to applicants of any of the 21 EPFL doctoral programmes.
- Applicants must hold a Master’s degree before they sign the employment contract with EPFL.
- Applicants must be early stage researchers: by the time they sign their employment contract, they must not have completed more than four years of full-time research, and they must not have been awarded a doctoral degree.
