The McDonnell International Scholars Academy Symposium is a biennial event convened by the Washington University in St. Louis to foster exchange and collaborations among its member universities, including CUHK. Due to the global pandemic, the in-person proceedings of this year’s symposium was postponed to 2021 and a virtual ‘Global Town Hall: Hope in a Time of Uncertainty’ was held on 8 October instead.

The event featured a panel discussion on the current global challenges and reasons for hope for the future. Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK, shared his views on how regenerative medicine can help fight COVID-19 and how universities and institutions should engage in interdisciplinary collaborations on a global scale to address global challenges.
