Student BU, Shi received the 2016 IEEE Life Members Graduate Study Fellowship in Electrical Engineering

M.Phil. Student BU, Shi has been selected by the IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB) to receive the 2016 IEEE Life Members Graduate Study Fellowship in Electrical Engineering. Bu Shi came from mainland China to The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to pursue higher education, where he obtained his B.Eng. degree in electronic engineering (EE) in 2014.

He then continued his study as an M.Phil. student at CUHK EE. The research area of his undergraduate final year project (FYP) and master’s work is analog IC design, both under the supervision of Prof. LEUNG Ka Nang Alex. Upon his graduation in this July, he will start pursuing the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the US.

The IEEE Life Members Graduate Study Fellowship in Electrical Engineering was established by the IEEE Board of Directors in February 2000, financed by the IEEE Life Members Fund. This Fellowship is awarded annually to one first year, full-time graduate student for work in the area of electrical engineering at an engineering school/program of recognized standing worldwide. It carries a stipend of US$10,000 per year, and is awarded in recognition of outstanding academic results. For more information about this award, please click here.
