The course is designed to help students critically examine current issues in social services and welfare administration and respond effectively to external threats and opportunities. It covers current issues on the welfare agenda (e.g. subvention policy, welfare planning, enhancing effectiveness of welfare agencies, crisis management within agencies, etc.). Specific issues and topics are selected according to students' backgrounds and interests, expertise of faculty members, and changing needs, expectations and new developments in the welfare sector.
