Prof. Hon Ming Lam and Prof. Samuel Sai Ming Sun and their team received the 2016 MoE Natural Science Award of China (2nd Class) from the Ministry of Education, China for their outstanding contributions to scientific and technological advancement. The main scientific research of this project includes (1) soybean genome sequencing and resistance gene function studies; (2) plant special G-protein in regulation of disease resistance and tolerance mechanism; (3) regulating genes of seed nitrogen accumulation and source-sink relationship. The team’s research results, mainly published in the form of academic papers, has reached the international leading level. In addition to publishing high-end papers, these results also granted a number of Chinese and foreign patents, indicating a broad application prospects.
