  • Abstract

Abstract

  • Innovation and design (I and D) and global citizenship and social enterprisingness (GC and SE) have been identified for the Planning Exercise 2019-2022.
  • Faculties have already identified several courses that best enable students to develop knowledge, skills, mindsets, values and traits exemplifying the two themes.
  • These showcase courses should create impacts not only at their respective faculties / departments but also on teachers and students of the entire University.
  • The first step towards this end is to provide university level support and direction to these courses.
The project aims at promoting a student culture which is conducive to realising the two new themes through the following initiatives:
  • Enhancing the understanding of CUHK teachers and students regarding the two themes;
  • Building students’ capacity for innovation and design and engagement in social enterprises;
  • Supporting teachers of showcase courses in the course design and delivery;
  • Collecting students’ views on the two university themes;
  • Enhancing sharing of ideas, practices and experiences among teachers and students;
  • Encouraging students’ innovative ideas through a student competition;
  • Recognising student achievements in innovation and social enterprising through the organisation of a student Expo; and
  • Disseminating good practices thus identified.
