Introduction

The Department is equipped with an array of state-of-the-art facilities for research. Current research interests of our faculty members can be broadly classified into the following areas: analytical and environmental chemistry, inorganic and structural chemistry, organic synthesis, organometallic chemistry, physical and biophysical chemistry, chemistry of macromolecules and colloids, surface and materials chemistry, laser spectroscopy, theoretical and computational chemistry. Being one of the best research departments in the University as well as an active centre of chemical research in the Asia-Pacific region, the Department has contributed over 100 publications per year in various international and peer-reviewed journals during the past few years.
