Science Student Exchange Programme

CUHK – Lanzhou University Two-way Summer Exchange Programme

(香港中文大學與蘭州大學化學聯合實習)

The Department of Chemistry of CUHK has established very close collaborations with the School of Chemistry of Lanzhou University on teaching and research for a very long time. To strength our collaboration, and allows our undergraduate and postgraduate student to know more about the current developments of chemical research and chemistry-related industries in the Gansu Province, we have organized four short exchange trips to Lanzhou University in the summers of 2015 to 2017 and 2019. A total of 86 students and teachers of the Department of Chemistry, CUHK had joined these trips to Lanzhou. Starting from 2017, the exchange has expanded to a two-way one, which the students from Lanzhou University visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong as well. In 2017 and 2019, 40 students from the Lanzhou University visited our Department. It is anticipated that similar summer research trip will be organized again. The teachers and students will:

1. Visit the Lanzhou University and the Chemistry Research Facilities
2. Attend scientific research seminars
3. Visit the R&D and metal refinery facilities in several different regions in Gansu Province
4. Visit some historical places in Gansu Province to know more about the history and culture of the Western china

Oversea Program for Undergraduate Students

CUHK offers more than 230 student exchange programmes. These programs enable our chemistry students to study abroad for one semester or one year. The credits of some courses are transferrable so that students can make academic progress at the same pace as they remain in Hong Kong.
