Course description:

The Intensive English Program (IEP) organized by UW is designed for students who wish to improve their English skills for use in their work or educational pursuits. Students are assigned to different levels according to their ability in each skill area based on placement test scores. Students generally take a combination of listening and speaking, reading, writing, and elective courses. They attend classes four or five hours daily, Monday through Friday.

Level of study:

The IEP curriculum has two divisions: Lower and Upper. Examples of courses in the lower division curriculum (Beginning to Intermediate) are Grammar & Writing, Academic Reading & Writing, Vocabulary & Idioms, etc. Examples of courses in the upper division curriculum (High-intermediate to Advanced) are Applied Academic Skills, Advanced Conversation, Business English, etc. The IEP offers a wide range of courses which cover different areas in English Language Learning.
