    從東華三院古蹟及檔案探索醫療與人文精神
    Exploring Medicine and Humanities through the Historical Sites and Archives of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals

    Prof. Chen Wei J., Dean of the College of Public Health at National Taiwan University (NTU), Prof. Chiang Tung-liang and Prof. Chang Shu-sen will lead a group of postgraduate students from the College of Public Health at NTU to visit the Research Institute for the Humanities (RIH) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. This visit aims at strengthening the collaboration between RIH at CUHK and College of Public Health at NTU as well as exploring medicine and the humanities through a few historical sites and the archives of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs). The TWGHs originated from the Tung Wah Hospital which was established in 1870 under the promulgation of the “Chinese Hospital Incorporation Ordinance”. It provided Chinese medicine then many other services to Chinese locally and globally. In celebration of its 145th anniversary in 2015, the Board of Directors of TWGHs led by Ms. Maisy Ho, the current Chairman, has kindly offered to sponsor the event.
