Centre for International Business Studies
Overview
Centre for International Business Studies (CIBS) at the Department of Management of CUHK Business School was established to push the frontiers of research and study of management and international business issues, especially in emerging economies. Our faculty members are pioneers in several areas of research, including the internationalisation of Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises, corporate fraud in transition economies, and cross-border acquisitions and performance in emerging economies. We encourage their active engagement and dialogue with fellow academics and organisations from both Hong Kong and overseas.
Since its inception, CIBS has made an impact on the creation and dissemination of international business knowledge and insights to both academic and business communities. Our excellence is well known on the international stage, with top worldwide rankings in international business research based on publication counts in the Journal of International Business Studies and four other leading international business journals. CIBS also curates quality databases for globally relevant frontier studies, and both our graduates and scholars from mainland (and international) universities are strongly encouraged to participate in research projects.
CIBS has several research and teaching concentrations ranging from organisation studies and human resource management to strategic and cross-cultural management. We regularly host seminars and workshops to gather experts for collaboration and knowledge exchange, paving the way for more rigorous studies on China and other emerging economies.
