Prof. Huang Yu, Associate Director (Research) of the School of Biomedical Sciences and Director (Basic Sciences) of the Faculty’s Institute of Vascular Medicine, received the “Research Excellence Award 2016-2017” from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in August 2017. The award was made to a transregional research led by Prof. Huang, with the backup of his research team including Dr. Wang Li, his postdoctoral fellow, revealing a novel mechanism for the development of atherosclerosis which set new treatment directions to cardiovascular diseases. The findings were published in an international scientific journal Nature in December 2016.

The Award shows the University's recognition of Prof. Huang’s ongoing efforts and remarkable accomplishments in research. We sincerely wish Prof. Huang and his research team continued success in their research endeavors in the future.
